Epidemiologists Education, Certification and License Requirements
An epidemiologist career begins with a Master of Epidemiology degree, or
a related degree, from an accredited university. Some epidemiologists obtain a
Ph.D. in Epidemiology, and others have a professional background and obtain a
dual degree in epidemiology.

epidemiology
Epidemiologists don’t need a license. The Certification Board of
Infection Control and Epidemiology provides certification which offers
epidemiologists a way to demonstrate mastery and dedication to the field.
Certification must be renewed every five years.
